After three quarters, the score would be even at 35-35 a piece seting upo an epic fourth quarter. With 8:40left in the quarter, Cantu and Dodge connected with a 58 yard catch to put the Dragons up 42-35. Soon after, the duo would strike again for a 33 yard touchdown lifting the Dragons to a 49-35 lead. Rockwall's never say die attitude would lead them back into the game with time running short. Robert Carter found football's promised land with 37 seconds remaining to pull within seven of the Dragons. Rockwall's chances to tie the game would rest on a successful onside kick, which eventually would fail as Southlake Carroll was left to run out the clock avoiding two straight losses for the first time since 2001 when they lost three straight in non-district play to Highland Park, Coppell and Waxahachie. |
